Wow, what a Sunday! There was so much we had to get through but I think it all went quite well. We started out the usual warmups and stretches, then some light sparring. Then we went into the first of two planned lessons, which was bladework/blade defense. This was going to be critical since we were going to do seated fencing that day.

Lightspeed Saber League is having a public sparring night in the park. We’ll be doing open sparring, a referee training session, and a friendly cadet tournament (ages 12-15). Participants will be matched approximately by size, age, and experience.

Hello! Academy members can now purchase tickets to the IGNITE tournament! Tickets are $29 for all members, but only full members get free equipment rental. Checkout with the appropriate option to make sure you get what you need. Spectators are free.
This tournament is limited to novice competitors, meaning men who have never made Top 8 and women who have never made Top 2. It will be divided into men’s and women’s divisions, and uses the Squadron system, which means you fight 4-5 times NO MATTER WHAT. No instant eliminations. So you can rest easy, no matter how new you are to the sport, you get action for the entire night.
